COVID-19 cases in Norway up to 63

Updated: Mar 9, 2020

DRAMMEN- Norway has now joined other European countries with the most number of Covid-19 cases in Europe. At 63 reported Covid-19 cases, Norway is the seventh country in Europe to record the highest number of infections after Italy (3089), France (285), Germany(262), Spain (222), Switzerland (93) and Britain (85).

However, despite high incidences of Covid-19 infections, the Norwegian Institute Of Public Health said all patients who tested positive for the virus are showing “mild symptoms” and are only placed in home quarantines to isolate them from the rest of the population.

To date, no one has been hospitalized nor placed in isolation rooms in any hospital anywhere in the country.

The first Covid-19 case in Norway was reported on 26 February at the city of Trondheim in Northern Norway. Since then the number has been steadily climbing.

More updates to follow.
