Young actor Elijah Canlas´ career is currently riding high as his film with fellow actor Maris Racal gets screened at the Berlin Film Festival - Berlinale this year.
Sitting down with Pinoy Portal Europe, Canlas giddily admitted that getting to Berlinale at this point of his career is a dream come true. He is in awe of his experience attending the festival.
“Excited ako mapanood, it´s my first work with Direk Antoinette Jadaone who I have been a fan of since I was very young. Grateful ako na napabilang sa Sunshine so excited akong mapanood yun. Other than that, meeting people, meeting filmmakers, watching movies, mga competitions na dito nagpi-premiere, so it´s a whole experience honestly, “ Canlas elaborated.
He also expressed his gratitude to the industry for the opportunities given to him.
“(I am) grateful na sa Pilipinas, nabibigyan ako ng opportunities ng mga filmmakers to be part of their projects kasi artista lang naman ako. Actors are just devices to tell the stories that the writers/directors wrote so sobrang nagpapasalamat po ako that I am part of those movies,” he added.
He also gamely revealed the real score between him and his former girlfriend.
"Right now, I am dating someone, ok naman po kami. Si Miles; I think alam na po ng maraming tao. Si Miles Ocampo po. Parang ngayon ko lang yata na-confirm yan so far, “ he admitted.
He also revealed that it is his first time to visit Berlin and recounted what he did in the city.
“Last night I got to go around at Alexander Platz and kumain ako ng doner, ganyan. I have friends here so they showed me around."
